Memorial game for HQE legend Taff Llewellyn planned for Saturday

Last year Gerwyn ‘Taff’ Llewellyn, a much-loved member of Hatfield QE Rugby Club sadly passed away, but to celebrate his life with a memorial game on Saturday 16 March against St Albans Rugby Club. There will also be celebrations in the Town Inn to raise money for HCF (Hertfordshire Community Foundation) and MacMillian Cancer.

The game starts at 13:30 at Roe Hill Hall and then the celebrations will be held at the Mai Tai, in the Town Inn pub – All comers are welcome.

Gerwyn ‘Taff’ Llewellyn was a hugely popular person, not just in the rugby team, but also the wider Hatfield area. It came as a shock to many when he passed away on 27 February 2018 and his funeral was full with many from the community coming to pay their last respects.

Hatfield QE Rugby Club is hosting the day in honour of the player that is still missed by all at the club. HCF has ben chosen as the charity, because Llewellyn was aiming to raise funds for them by running in the 2018 marathon.
